Winter, is it weird to think of winter?

Winter, is it weird to think of winter?

As it is still summer here but the nights are drawing in….

As I write my alter ego Joe the Strummer is gearing up for a couple of charity gigs this Saturday in Southend on Sea, I play guitar and sing ya know, ya gotta diversify and have more than one string to ya bow otherwise if the string breaks there ya are… a stick. (Paraphrasing Sinatra there).

Strange when you visit social media and some of your mates are either skiing already (winter in the southern hemisphere), haven’t stopped (are on the many European glaciers), are hitting the indoor slopes or like me are jealously watching in the UK – building but getting to play some music to the general public.

ALC HQ our new home in UK is coming along nicely and we’ve had plenty of BBQ weather this summer, although I become a useless puddle of sweat in the heat so end up looking forward to the winter temperatures and of course my thoughts turn to snow. Are we there yet? Is it time to do this again yet?

I would certainly ask the snow gods to give us another winter like last season or if greedy better PLEEEAASSE!

The great snow we enjoyed last season seems to have made the summer skiing in places like Tignes, Cervinia and other Glaciers look amazing and the winter never-ending… thought to self- must go summer skiing again (haven’t been for a long while NZ in the 90’s and 2000)  and maybe take some clients with me, who’s up for it?

Best news my end is after tweaking my knee last winter, the MRI results say no soft tissue damage so should be back on Telemark skis this winter too, really missed not doing any last season.

ALC are gearing up to start taking bookings for the 2018/19 winter, my 37th or 38th lost count, so get in touch in whatever way suits;
