TdF, Cycling comes past our house
Not a great fan of watching sport, although I will, I’d rather be doing than watching.
The weather didn’t help either however, it was ok in the morning allowing us to go up the way the guys on the Tour de France would later descend in the pouring rain from the Col de la Ramaz.
This was Babs’ 1st “proper” Col and is around an hours UP from our house (900mts) and it was pretty crowded at the top.
The ok weather, changes later!
It’s great to earn your freewheel cycling down although pretty scary, but it also helps that you get lots of encouragement from the spectators who have camped out along the route.
Rewarded with seeing Chris Froome in yellow jersey cycling right past the bottom of our garden and the rain abating a fair bit… rather them than me.
The crowd at our junction at Les Pont des Gets rewarded for standing for hours in the pouring rain. The main road up to Les Gets was more like a soggy carpark but they have a “clear up” crew that sweep up very quickly after, so it was back to normal pretty swiftly.
Since then it’s been back to getting fit with picking off the cols in the area.
