The Portes du Soleil region is one of the largest ski resorts in the world offering over 650km of pisted runs encompassing twelve resorts altogether.
Alpine Learning Curves meet clients based in 3 main locations:
The variety of the slopes allows for good skiing/boarding in all weather conditions, it is due to this variety the Portes du Soleil has earned its reputation as being one of the most versatile ski regions in the world. More info can be found in various Blogs.
Added to this there is an enormous variety of activities for family ski holidays and clubs and restaurants for singles and couples.
For families with children, each resort contains beginners slopes and play areas; like the Piste des Indiens in Les Gets. The beginners area in Les Gets can be reached by car, meaning that you may not need a lift pass for your first session. Some resorts offer dedicated children’s sledge areas.
For the adventurous there are nine snowparks located throughout the Portes du Soleil and for freeriders there are extensive opportunities for off piste skiing including the slope of Mont Chery (Les Gets). There are also several freeride areas – off piste areas that are patrolled making them safer or areas alongside the piste that have not been pisted offering the opportunity for the uninitiated to have a go.
While the Alpine Learning Curves home base is situated in Les Gets each of the team teaches throughout the Portes du Soleil resorts. It is this intimate knowledge of each resort that gives each student their best ski holiday ever.
We meet our ski school clients in Les Gets because of the excellent teaching terrain but also because we enjoy skiing here too!
Morzine is located immediately between Avoriaz and Les Gets and it is possible to buy local lift passes … for more budget conscious holiday makers.
Avoriaz is the link onward from Les Gets and Morzine that enables you to access the rest of the Portes du Soleil
