Let’s hope this weekend was the shape of things to come this season.
Kicked off with a dinner invitation courtesy of Morgan Jupe in Morzine on Friday. Chalet Chef Brad cooked us a delicious meal, served up by the gorgeous Freya whilst we were royally entertained by our hosts, Josh & Jess. Thanks team, that dessert is nestling firmly on the hips but no regrets!!
Saturday we were joined by one of our first ever ski buddies, Andy Morgan, who paid us a flying visit after attending a Snowheads bash in Tignes. Andy is old school – he’s ditched the knee tuck but the hip flask is staying!! He arrived too late to ski unfortunately, so we settled for a dog walk up in Praz de Lys.
Sunday we took him for a ski up in Avoriaz and gave our lift passes their first outing of the season. Skied hard all morning but by lunch time the slopes were getting busy so we retired for a burger and a beer in the winter sunshine then headed home to swap yarns over a bottle of wine or two.
Monday having waved goodbye to our guest, Ed arrived back from Race training in Saas Fe and the BASI Interski selection in Zermatt. We were keen to hear his news and we are looking forward to a few posts on the blog from him about these adventures and his adventures in NZ over the antipodean winter this year.
Yes it would have been great to make first tracks in knee deep powder but we’ve still that to look forward to along with plenty more fun packed ones like this one! Oh it’s a hard life in the mountains!
