About us

All of our Ski & Telemark instructors:

  1. Speak English as their native language
  2. Have the highest BASI L4 ISTD qualification (British Assocation of Snowsports Instructors)
  3. Have full French Equivalence

This means the French authorities endorse their qualifications and they are legally entitled to work in France independently of any of the French schools or organisations

Alpine Learning Curves started in Les Gets in 2003, when after many years of working in established ski schools over the World, Joe Beer decided to take advantage of his right to a self employed status.  Over the years we have had several like minded instructors working alongside either full or part time but all fit the above criteria. Currently Andi McCann joins us when he can, normally in the peak New Year & Half Term weeks.

Our class meeting points are in Les Gets, Morzine & Avoriaz in the Portes du Soleil region of France.

Administration is handled by Joe’s wife Babs and she generally fields all the enquiries and phone calls so the instructors are free to get on with what they do best! Babs also taught skiing for 20 odd years  and is happy to put the benefit of her experience at your disposal when arranging lessons. She will be handling all off snow aspects of your booking for you which we find helps to avoid confusion and makes. the process as smooth as possible.

We offer ski & telemark private lessons (a recommended maximum of 6 people) to all levels and all ages.

If you don’t see what you are after then please feel free to contact us to enquire if we can create something special for you and your group.
