Telemark is the oldest form of modern skiing; if you travel back in time before modern bindings came into being ALL skis had no real form of rear binding, hence the other name for the sport of FREE-HEELING.
It was developed around the 1800’s by Sondre Norheim in the Telemark region of Norway but took the world by storm when 1st seen in the USA! It is exhilarating, good for fitness, much harder to master than other snowsports and therefore more rewarding.
Alpine Learning Curves offer free-heel Instruction to individuals or small private groups. We meet at designated points in Les Gets, Morzine & Avoriaz.
We recommend adults & children learn in separate lessons for best results, but we are flexible provided the clients are too! If families wish to ski together we consider each booking on an individual basis and will advise how we think is best to work it.
Although you can learn from scratch, most clients booking Telemark lessons already have a grasp of Alpine or Snowbord technique, from around intermediate level.
