"I've been very keen on sports all my life, school basketball team, fanatic footballer and horseman to name three of many. But the first time I put on a pair of skis in my early twenties it set me on fire. I knew this was Me.
I have been teaching since the mid-eighties, so have seen all the changes in the sport along the way. I have been Telemarking since the 90's and am a current BASI Telemark Trainer (I train people to be instructors).
Ski instruction started off as a means to fund personal skiing but pretty soon the thrill from teaching felt just as good. I just love seeing people with that look on their faces when they "crack it", whatever the level of their Alpine or Telemark skiing.
Some twenty plus years later I still say those first days on snow were among the best fun. Every season and every week is different, that's what makes the sport so exciting, that's why I want to share this passion and experience with everyone who comes to Les Gets and the Portes du Soleil!
We all have different "Learning Curves", it's just a question of finding what makes it appeal to you."
Joe's note: Never ever skied? we recommend absolute beginners book a minimum of 3 x 2 hours to get up and running. after a 6 hour course most clients can stop and turn in control on very simple terrain.

Angus is a well-travelled and highly qualified skiing and telemark instructor. Angus has taught in the USA, New Zealand, Andorra and most recently France - if this isn't enough to keep anyone busy Angus has a sports injuries and osteopathy practise in Cheshire.
- BASI International Ski Teacher Diploma
- BASI International Ski Teacher Diploma French Equivalence
"I started teaching skiing in 1993. The unpredictable winters of Scotland led to season in USA, New Zealand, Andorra and most recently France. I gained the British Snow Sport Instructors (BASI) International Ski Teacher Diploma in 2000, along with the French Equivalence. When teaching the main aim is to have fun and yet allow you to potentially acheive your goals whatever they may be."
Angus note: I allow everyone to learn & practice their new skills at a comfortable rate, rapidly developing the understanding and the feel required to keep control even as conditions change and speed increases.

"Having started skiing on a school trip in my teenage years, I was hooked right away and started working for a lift pass on my local dry slope where I also started to snowboard and soon became the first snowboard instructor to teach at the centre.
This was 17 years ago and since then I've had 17 winters Skiing, Snowboard teaching and training in Andorra, New Zealand, California & Colorado and France. In all this time I've found few experiences that equal the feeling of skiing/snowboarding to me, but the buzz of helping others to develop their confidence and achieve their potential in the mountains is also a joy like no other!"
